Professional Experience
I have worked across local media, client websites, high-volume subscription systems, and modern full-stack applications.
My strongest work has always been where front-end development, business requirements, accessibility, and reliable production support meet.
December 2012 to April 2026
More than thirteen years building, modernizing, and supporting subscription and order experiences used across a large portfolio of publications.
I developed and maintained hundreds of high-volume transactional pages, including subscription, payment, and account-related experiences. The work required careful implementation, consistent form behavior, responsive layouts, and close coordination with product, QA, and backend teams.
A large part of the role was improving existing systems rather than replacing them. I created reusable page patterns, validation approaches, and scripts that reduced repetitive work and made large production updates more consistent.
Built and supported subscription, order, payment, and account experiences for multiple publications.
Created scripts, templates, and repeatable implementation patterns that reduced manual production work.
Improved validation, payment flows, responsive behavior, accessibility, and friction points in conversion-focused interfaces.
Worked with product, QA, and backend teams from requirements through testing, release, troubleshooting, and production support.
Digital Publishing
Before CDS Global, I worked directly with newsrooms, advertising teams, local businesses, and readers as newspapers expanded their online products.
Ames Tribune / Ames, Iowa
Led development of audience-facing digital products, including GoCyclones.com and an online real estate platform that allowed local agents to publish listings while creating new advertising opportunities for the newspaper.
I also worked with the advertising team on digital packages and trained newsroom, advertising, and business employees on new online tools.
The Messenger / Fort Dodge, Iowa
Built and maintained websites and digital features for local publications, then helped roll out a new web platform across other newspapers in the parent company.
I traveled to train employees, supported online advertising implementation, and converted thousands of print business listings into structured database content for an online directory.
Between newsroom and enterprise work
Between the Ames Tribune and CDS Global, I continued building websites through freelance, independent, and short-term work.

The tools have changed, but the core of the work has stayed consistent: understand the problem, build a usable interface, and support it after release.
Responsive interfaces, accessible markup, form validation, reusable patterns, and careful translation of designs into production code.
Improving legacy systems in practical steps without losing the business rules and production behavior they already support.
Angular interfaces connected to REST APIs, authentication, role-based access, PostgreSQL or MongoDB data, and Docker-based development.
Working with product, QA, backend developers, business teams, and end users through testing, launch, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
